Caring for Your Neighbors and the Margaret Pratt Community

Who we are

Margaret Pratt Community which opened in 2018, is the project of Enhanced Living Inc., a non-profit that was started by Dr. James Barton who worked with George and Hazel Pratt and a volunteer board to bring an affordable, community-oriented, assisted living to Bradford.  As a Board, we are working to assure that the Margaret Pratt Community mirrors the surrounding area and that our residents are still living with many of their local longtime friends and neighbors.

We are proud of the progress we have made since our inception.  Overseeing the construction of the facility, opening a new Community, hiring and supporting the right staff, and surviving the COVID pandemic have all been challenges.  Today, providing a high level of care at an affordable price remains an on-going challenge.  

Unlike many assisted living and memory care communities, we work hard to assure that all of our residents can remain in the Community as they age.  We work with residents to enroll in Medicaid, and we accept Medicaid payment for their care when needed.   This means that we are not reimbursed for the full cost of care for these residents but they can continue to “be at home here”.  A contribution to our general fund will help us ensure affordability for all residents and sustain our operations for years to come.
